one time they used a wood-burning fire). After the first firing,
(which reaches 1040 ° c), the vase is at the “Biscotto”
or “Biscuit” stage. At this time, it will be rosy
in color, consistent in structure, and porous (if made with
red clay). Taken out of the oven, it is then decorated and
put back into the oven for a second time-- at a temperature
of 920-940° c.
